Chakra Media Group wins a Telly Award for Paterson Music Project film.

We wanted to share some happy news with you. Chakra Media Group has won a 2015 Telly Award for the film ‘Paterson Music Project: Empowering And Inspiring Children Through Music.’  With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.

The Paterson Music Project is run by the Wharton Music Center/New Jersey Youth Symphony. Inspired by the El Sistema Program, it uses music as a vehicle for social change by empowering and inspiring children through the community experience of ensemble learning and playing. Over 200 grade 1-5 Paterson students are in this program.

Music changes lives. The Paterson Music Project exemplifies this.

We wanted to make a film that was honest and moving. That meant capturing the passion and the incredible commitment that the administrators, teachers, parents, and students put into this program. The Chakra Media Group and Paterson Music Project team brought not just their talents, but their hearts and souls into making this film. Winning the Telly Award is a recognition of all of this.

We want to thank Karen Deschere and Susan Oldroyd at Wharton Music Center for giving us the opportunity, their trust, and the creative freedom to tell PMP’s story.

The music was composed by Wharton Music Center’s Raul Huaman and performed by Kristine Peters, Elizabeth Moulthrop, and Terrence Thornhill.

A huge thank you to the CMG team that made this vision a reality – Cinematographer Faroukh Mistry, Editor Brittany Holley, Sound Mixer John Carter, Makeup Artist Jan Pedis, Gaffer Jeff Anderson, and Production Assistant Karinna Wildauer.

We are proud to have played a small role in ensuring that students continue to thrive in the world-class music education program that Paterson Music Project brings to them.

Here’s to telling stories that enrich and connect us everyday in every way!

What Businesses Can Learn From The Pew 2013 Online Video Report.

The Pew 2013 Online Video Report is out. Here are three takeaways for businesses:

  1. Videos are a must for any business website and online presence. “Posting and watching videos continues to grow: A national survey conducted in July 2013 shows the percent of American adult internet users who upload or post videos online has doubled in the past four years, from 14% in 2009 to 31% today.”
  2. Make your videos funny, bold and informative. “Comedy and educational videos continue to be at or near the top of the list of most widely viewed types of online video, now joined by how-to and music videos”
  3. Get social. “Fully 72% of online adults now use social networking sites, which provide a venue for video sharing and watching.”

Every logo has a story. What’s yours?

The story behind the logos of companies always makes for fascinating reading. One image that tells the world everything about how a company wants to be perceived. No wonder then that companies spend so much time, effort and money into getting it just right.

This is a video we produced of the story behind the indigoforce logo. Founder Gina Calvano is passionate about the mission and calling of her company. And it came through strong and clear as she talked about it.
